Ramps, 2011
graphite, plywood, wood, glue, sand, linseed oil
ca 110 x 140 x 25 cm

These objects are generally ramps, parabolas, symbolic forms of trick-making. Drawings on them are basically still-lives about self made wooden toys.
The objects depicted on pictures are really existing ones, they're recollections about finger-skateboard tracks, made last year under my supervision by VHK (Old Town Educational College) 3rd - 6th grade students during their woodwork classes. The original idea comes from a Japanese boy Kento, who didn't want to make just fish slices, but something else. As it turned out, there were finger-skateboards, which needed special tracks for making tricks and such tracks were too expensive at shops. Later on all the boys made tracks for finger-skateboards out of leftover plywood. The rule was to use only small pieces, which they had to add together technically correctly, so the track would hold while playing.
Before giving the boys their works, I took photos of them. I made drawings of three works using six photos. I ordered black and white copies of the photos, but somehow they came out dark gray and later, with the influence of oil, the drawings became more like nightly, just as Rembrandt's "Night Watch".

Rämbid, 2011
grafiit, vineer, puit, PVA liim, liiv, linaseemne õli
ca 110 x 140 x 25 cm

Need objektid on üldistatult rämbid, paraboolid, triki tegemise sümboolsed vormid. Joonistused nende pinnal on sisuliselt natüürmordid isetehtud puust mänguasjadest.
Piltidel kujutatud objektid on päriselt olemas, need on meenutused näpurularadadest, mille tegemist juhendasin eelmisel õppeaastal VHK 3.-6. klassi puutöötundides.
